Coffee Cake Made More Yummy With Banana With Chocolate Chips ...

You are here: Home / Recipes / Coffee Cake Made More Yummy With Banana With Chocolate Chips

Coffee cakes are kind of a tradition. These are a mixture of Dutch, French and German varieties of cake with different kinds of additions like fruits, rum, spices etc. Though some people say that they find banana cake recipe is a little heavy for breakfast, I believe that these are good for a hurried breakfast or perhaps as a break. Here is my favorite version of Banana Coffee Cake Recipe with Chocolate Chip Streusel.

What you will need:

- Semisweet chocolate chips ? 1 cup

- Dark brown sugar (packed) ? 2/3 cup

- Sliced walnuts ? 1/2 cup (I love to roast them a little prior to utilising)

- Ground cinnamon ? 1 large spoon

- All-purpose flour ? 1 1/2 cups

- Baking soda ? 3/4 little spoon

- Baking powder ? 3/4 little spoon

- Salt ? 1/4 little spoon

- Sugar ? 3/4 cup

- Butter at 70 degrees ? 1/2 cup

- Massive egg ? 1

- Mashed very ripe bananas ? 1 1/3 cups (about 3 sizeable)

- Buttermilk ? 3 large spoons

Method:

- Heat the oven to 350F.

- Grease and flour an 8-inch Bundt cake pan.

- In a dry and clean bowl, mix the dark brown sugar, ground cinnamon, sliced walnuts and chocolate chips. This is the mix for the streusel.

- In another clean bowl, take the flour, baking powder, sodium bicarbonate, salt and comb all of the ingredients together.

- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together till light and fluffy.

- Add the egg and buttermilk to the butter and beat well to include the ingredients.

- Add the mashed ripe bananas and mix well to mix thoroughly.

- Add the flour mix to the egg-banana mix, a half cup at a time. Mix well after each addition.

- Make sure that all of the ingredients are mixed and there are no lumps.

- Take the greased Bundt pan and pour 1/4 of the cake batter in the pan.

- Speckle some of the streusel mix on the cake batter.

- Pour another layer of cake batter on the streusel mix and scatter another layer of streusel mix.

- Continue till all of the batter and streusel mix is utilized. Ensure that the upper layer is of streusel.

- Shake the pan gently.

- Bake in the heated stove for roughly 45 minutes.

- Take away the cake from the cooker and cool in the pan for about ten minutes.

- Cut in cubes or squares to serve.

Variations:

- Bundt cakes became preferred in the 1950s. You can heat the cake in a square pan.

- Traditional streusel cakes have only one layer of streusel mix stuck between two layers of the cake.

- I also occasionally play around with a swirl of streusel in the cake.

- Any way you bake it the cake is super toothsome.
